Welcome
Because our lambs are raised exclusively on forage and never fed grain or supplements, they grow and finish slowly, making their flavor at harvest more intense than lambs whose growth is accelerated in feedlots.
Furthermore, we do not medicate, implant, or artificially stimulate our sheep and we do not use herbicides or pesticides routinely on our pastures, so our lamb is free of these unwanted trace chemical residues.
Goodgrass Lamb is a small family farm in southeast Texas raising lamb and selling direct through farmers markets in Houston to customers who appreciate the rich traditional taste of lamb grown out slowly on forage.
Our forage year begins in the late fall with the emergence of clovers, winter grasses and brassicas, and stretches through the early summer when the quality of the grass begins to decline.  Lamb usually becomes available in late April and the harvest lasts until July.
